This Week’s Food for Thought – Week 4

Are Religious Polity and Extreme Factions Ploys Destroying Islam from Within?

This week’s food for thought examines whether or not certain politically motivated and extreme groups were founded as a conspiracy to destroy Islam and Muslims from within.

It is an established fact that modern-day extreme and political groups such as ISIS, Muslim Brotherhood, and other “Islamist” ruble groups around the world, backed with satellites of fund and arms, are forces of coups and assassinations, and disruptions working on the collapse of prospering Muslim nations such as Libya, Iraq, Syria and Yemen, and in the defacing of Islam with intolerance, violence, bloodshed, and radicalism. All such acts defy the core values and genuine teachings of Islam.

Genuine Islam promotes tolerance and freedom of faith and expression. The Qur’an teaches that God’s mercy and benevolence haves no limits, and apply to all creations. The sacredness of the living souls holds one of the highest protection in Islam. Human relational doctrines graciously are based on compassion and healthy cooperation. These are few of so many principles that make up the core values of Islam. All such standards stand out to question the extremist’s mindsets and obstructions. In fact, Dr. Adnan Ibrahim of Vienna, a modern-day scholar, teaches that “the core purpose of Islam is the realization of God’s mercy and compassion on earth.” He further stated that people are the trustors to carry such realization, spreading compassion, building and augmenting life, not destroying it.

God states in the Holy Qur’an:

‏33:72 انا عرضنا الامانة على السماوات والارض والجبال فأبين ان يحملنها وأشفقن منها وحملها الانسان انه كان ظلوما جهولا

Surely, We offered the trust of compliance to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused, fearing to be unfaithful to it. But the human being accepted it. Surely, he is ever unjust, ignorant. Qur’an 33:72

Here on earth, people are tested, each in their capacity and position as to who will faithfully carry the trust of sustaining life, Godliness, benevolence, and compassion. God said:

‏10:14 ثم جعلناكم خلائف في الارض من بعدهم لننظر كيف تعملون

Then We made you successors on Earth after them to see how you
would perform. Qur’an 10:14

The Genuine Muslim

For God, apathy and negligence are unwelcome numbness, none the lees, acts of disruptions and destructions. The likeness of heedfulness as to commotion is as the likeness of the light and darkness. God states in the Qur’an.

The blind and the seeing are not alike; Nor is darkness (tantamount to) light;

Nor the cooling shade and the scorching heat. Nor are the living and the dead are alike.

God makes to listen whomever He wants. (Muhammad), you cannot

make people in the graves to listen.

Could God, Who is just and fair treat those who augment life, societies, and nations in the same way He treats those who do nothing or even destroy nations? No, God would not compare the living to the dead. Mustering and awakening intellects, hearts and the senses toward establishing of mercy, supplementing life, not destroying it, is God’s trust given to all people.

No Muslim should do nothing about fiasco. It is dutiful on every Muslim to investigate and study roots and causes of failure, design solutions toward eliminating failure and implementing the best of such solutions. Godliness nation is a living nation, not a dead one.

Ploy Pointers

Construing Islamic doctrine, such as in the Salafi/Wahhabi creed, spending the billions of dollars in propagating such interpretation, contempt all other interpretations, and prohibit new ones, all point to possible conspiracy to deform Islam from within.

Selfishly interpreting the Islamic Scripture, classifying the interpreting agent as the most trusted and highly authentic, shoving such an interpretation into the throats people; vehemently rejecting all other elucidations, accusing all Muslims of heresy, rejecting all other religions and ethnicities; and slaying those of them who question such imposed ways and policies. All of such acts, clearly defy the principles of the Qur’an. Not only that but also converse the genuine and long-established memoire of Islamic tolerance, enlightenment and civilization. Such are the drivers to question the legitimacy of such extreme and fanatic creed, its endorsers and financers.
As for the decisive role of the political Muslim Brotherhood party, it was mainly in the destabilizing of nations and their economy, due to their shots at taking over existing governments, among other disturbances. Muslim Brotherhood’s doctrine calls for establishing an Islamic caliphate by means of coups and assassinations, until taking over their local governments. Muslim Brotherhood’s doctrine permitted such un-Islamic works by accusing governments and their people as apostate, much like the Wahhabi/Salafi creed, but at much broader base—both, governments and their nations are alleged Kufar, disbelievers.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s underground militant department, local to Egypt and Syria conducted many assassinations, revolts and attempted coups that the successive governments of Egypt as well as Syria, since the inception of the Muslim Brotherhood, were forced to clamp down, not only on members of the Muslim Brotherhood but due to their nature of secretive activities, on all Islamic work whether innocent or otherwise political, became suspect. Such ambiguity, the Muslim Brotherhood created many obstacles in the growth and ability to practice genuine Islam. This trend of fears of local governments of Islam and Muslims started from these two counties and spread beyond, and especially were Muslim Brotherhood set footing.

It is not the point of this writing to go over the Muslim Brotherhood’s history, but just to validate the discussion above, few of the actual assassinations, revolts and attempted coups are listed below.

A list of websites on the inception, doctrines, history, and assassinations, and slaughter in-whole, of the Muslim Brotherhood are listed at the end of this write up.

The formidable question is what kind of political, economic or industrial stability can a country, a government, or an entity of any kind, can ever grow and prosper under such cancerous conditions that the “Muslim” Brotherhood party imposed on the people? Can anyone now understand why is the lag of the middle eastern countries. Can anyone question anymore as to why there is so much political repression in the Middle East?  For further education on the Muslim Brotherhood and its political doctrines, checkout the following websites:

The Reversal of Islamic Doctrine
History attests that it was Islamic doctrines that opened the doors to religious tolerance, enlightened the world in all fields of knowledge and the practice of affability. Undeniably, Muslims’ freedom of intellect and the quest for learning, that made advances in the scientific and social fields, were responsible for awakening Europe and much of the old world out of darkness into the light of rationality, and into the Renaissance. Only in modern times, in the last couple of hundred years, Islam was reintroduced with coups, assassinations, intolerance, obstruction of scholarship, inflexibility, viciousness and extreme. Why such drastic changes were made? Can such fundamental change be the work of genuine Muslim believers, nevertheless, genuine Muslim scholars? In God’s testimony, it cannot. The holy Qur’an states:

:257 الله ولي الذين امنوا يخرجهم من الظلمات الى النور والذين كفروا اولياؤهم الطاغوت يخرجونهم من النور الى الظلمات اولئك اصحاب النار هم فيها خالدون

God is the Guiding Friend of those who believe, He brings them out of the darkness and into the light. As for those who reject [the guidance], their guiding friend are the evil ones, they bring them out of the light and into the darkness; these are the people of the Fire, in it they will abide eternally. Qur’an 2:257

Deterring the Muslim Intellect

Intimidating Muslims from ponder and deliberation of the vast and recurring goodness of their faith flout one of the basic purposes of Islam— “Read,” obtain knowledge. Recall, that the first word of the Qur’an was and still is “READ.” Study, research, investigate, observe, discover, invent, and their alike of innovative ideas, for the purpose of fulfilling God’s trust in augmenting life, fall under God’s command for Muslims to use their faculties to discover and develop knowledge, and to turn it into meaningful mechanisms of mercy for advancing their life, as oppose to stagnation or yet destruction.

Controlling the Populace
While obtaining knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim, not just a handful of clergies, the ploy of the power-hungry factions and entities was made to swaying people away from learning and depend on the few clergies’ fatwas in realizing their religious needs. Narrowing the religion to fewer clergies, easily-controlled, paint then as “highly trusted,” such is the case in the Salaf/Wahhabi creed, has for decades, consequently shaped closed communities minced in thousands upon thousands of fatwas of dogmatism, intolerance and inflexibility. Such ploy provided the perfect fertilized soil for fanaticism and extremism to thrive.

The holy Qur’an eloquently addressed the above concern:

ام نجعل الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات كالمفسدين في الارض ام نجعل المتقين كالفجار

كتاب انزلناه اليك مبارك ليدبروا آياته وليتذكر اولوا الالباب

Shall We treat those who believe and augment societies as We treat those who spread corruption in the land? Or shall We treat the guardians of the Law as the Law-breakers? This is a Scripture that We have revealed unto you (O Prophet), full of lasting Bliss that people of understanding may ponder its Message usefulness, and may take them to heart. Qur’an 38:28

commands for 29

In this passage, God tells, the Qur’an is full of lasing munificence—useful rational and cognate theories, from which, when uncovered, new delightful venues are utilized. While such are God’s gift for prosperity, what is the motive in violating the clear Qur’an, and guiding people toward darkness and demise? Could the answer be anything other than un-Godliness?

The Case of Raif Badawi

Raif Badawi is one of the victims of intellectual suppression in Saudi Arabia. According to the Decline of Intellect in the Islamic World post, Raif Badawi’s crime was voicing  his concern about people’s inability to express their religious thoughts. He was charged by the Saudi authority in apostasy, and was sentenced to 1000 lashes and 10-year imprisonment among other fines. The Independent news published one of his statements:

“As soon as a thinker starts to reveal his ideas, you will find hundreds of fatwas that accused him of being an infidel just because he had the courage to discuss some sacred topics. I’m really worried that Arab thinkers will migrate in search of fresh air and to escape the sword of the religious authorities.”

What is more saddening, to say the least, is that Raif Badawi’s lawyer, Waleed Abulkhair, setup a human right organization, was targeted by the Saudi religious authority, and after court embattlements, he was charged 15-years imprisonment. The guilty verdict was: “undermining the regime and officials”, “inciting public opinion”, and “insulting the judiciary.” Note that all charges are violations of the well-established rules made in protecting the few and highly trusted religious authorities. More details about both Raif Badawi and Waleed Abulkhair cases are posted on Wikipedia.

Present Day Extremist’s Carnage
Today’s broadcast media, written books, and the worldwide news agencies present an unwavering evidence of the devastations, brutalities and atrocities carried by “Muslim” extremists, fanatics and polity players against Muslims, non-Muslims, and the rest of humanity. Few of such extreme cases are made next.

Luring the Young to Slay Parents

The extremists’ heinous actions and fatwas, in Iraq, Syria, and other countries (2004 thru 2017) has been enticing the young to butcher their parents, friends, neighbors, and any individual or community who is suspect or not does not like their ways or policies. Not surprising, such malicious work, propagated in the name of Islam, yet, such acts are gross violations of the spirit and core values of Islam.

The extremists’ ploy in slaying parents was misusing a verdict made by Ibn Taymiyyah regarding the killing of a parent. Ibn Taymiyyah’s fatwa was possibly based on a son coming face to face with his dad in an actual battlefield. Although, the chances of such case are remote, today’s extremists’ fatwas to slain people are made for far less compelling, and least despicable reasons, such as selling groceries and merchants to people they ascribe as adversary. Scores of parents, close friend and relatives, as a result were slaughtered. An account of such horrifying work is made in “This Week’s Food for Thought, Weeks, 2, and 3.

Destruction of Towns and Countries

The recent annihilation of Libya off the face of the earth, the near total destruction of Iraq and Syria, and more recently Yemen, and all associated ruin of infrastructures, slaughters, property loses, pains and sorrows, the world-wide harms affecting all people and creatures, to God, are a work of mischief and corruption. God said in the holy Qur’an:

Only, the recompense of those who war against God and his Apostle, and endeavor to spread corruption on earth, that they are being slain or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off on alternate sides or that they be banished from the land; that is a disgrace for them in this world and in the Hereafter they will have a great retribution. Qur’an 5:33

The expression (yas’awna fi-l-ardi fasadan), “to strive mischievously in the land” is a perfect fit for ISIS and polity extremists’ parties.

Launching of Actual War Against Muslims

The fanatic and extremists consider the majority of Muslims in the world “Murtadeen,” apostate. Such a claim legitimizes, in their view, war against them. An example of this is the Wahhabi-inspired faction’s war in 1811. Hurling a brutal and savage forces terrorizing the peaceful populations of the Arabian Peninsula, killing any who opposed them, destroying and blundering relics, monuments, landmarks and tombs. In their carnage over 10,000 Muslim souls and more than 100 prominent Muslim scholars were slain.1, 2

Launching an actual war against peaceful communities, accusing them of being “deviant,” is indeed, a far more deviant act to God than just being a deviant. Killing people with no due process is totally prohibited in the Qur’an. History attests that Prophet Muhammad changed the hearts of his people by teaching, not waring. He changed the ignorance and insecurity into peaceful and enlightened minds and hearts. He debated, made treaties and reconciliations, and had used wisdom to gain people’s hearts, not wars and viciousness.

Moreover, such Muslims were pioneers in the intellectual debates and learnings. Muslims founded many theological, linguistic, humanistic, and scientific books; they build schools and universities that actually advanced humanity, not destroyed it. Muslims advances in knowledge created the “Golden Age,” which awakened Europe from its darkened world. What is the motive in the extremists and fanatics’ revere of this traditional gift of Godliness into wars of evil and destruction?

It is in fact, a crime in Islam to slay people for the mere deviation or misunderstanding of the faith or its articles? God warned that the recompense of Hill Fire for those who slain a single believer, none the less slaying towns by the whole. What is the motive of such upheaval and murder in the name of Islam, yet Islam deeply exonerates it?

“But whoever kills a believer intentionally – his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment.” Qur’an 4:93

Significantly, all Muslim scholars agreed that, “war in Islam is the last resort to be considered in a matter.” All other avenues and options must be exhausted before resorting to fight. On the other hand, could the presence of historical and inspiring Islamic relics and monuments prevent people from worshipping God?

Likewise, could today’s ISIS destruction of tombs, mosques, temples and churches in Libya, Syria and Iraq, be an implementation of the Wahhabi creed? Moreover, what about the Islamic golden rule that states: “The permissible cannot be forbidden for mere future concerns?” If the elimination of things suspected to be future worshipped objects, is a solution, what can the fanatics do to eliminate the monstrous mountains and mountain peaks, around the world being worshipped even today? More importantly, in His wisdom, God permitted people to choose their religions, and did not even chores them into Islam.

If it had been Allah’s plan, they would not have taken false gods:
but We made you not one to watch over their doings, nor are you
set over them to dispose of their affairs. Qur’an 6:107

Proofs have come unto you from your Lord, so whoso sees,
it is for his own good, and whoso is blind is blind to his own harm.
And I am not (here) to watch over your doings. Qur’an 6:104

Collaboration with None-Muslims Against Islam
The security of any nation can be at stake when opponent elements of such community grew into its governing and vital systems. Addressing this point, the Qur’an warns Muslims in risking the Ummah by taking advisors and protectors from other faiths. It teaches:

O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (consultants, protectors, helpers, etc.) those outside your religion, since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed, We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences) so you understand. Qur’an 3:118

The Qur’an further teaches:

O you who have believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians
as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is
an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed,
Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. Qur’an 5:51

The recent devastations in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen are direct results of embracing and cooperating with bitanah not of the Muslim faith. The acts of Bandar bin Sultan during his role as the Secretary of the National Security Council between 2005 – 2011, and as a Director General of the Saudi Intelligence Agency in 2012, are engrossed occurrences of non-Muslim bitanah. The following paragraph, replicated from Global Research, exposes some of Bandar’s exertions.

“Bandar’s terror network is most evident in his long-term large scale financing, arming, training and transport of tens of thousands of Islamic terrorist “volunteers” from the US, Europe, the Middle East, the Caucuses, North Africa and elsewhere.. Al Qaeda terrorists in Saudi Arabia became “martyrs of Islam” in Syria.  Dozens of Islamic armed gangs in Syria competed for Saudi arms and funds.  Training bases with US and European instructors and Saudi financing were established in Jordan, Pakistan and Turkey.  Bandar financed the major ‘rebel’ Islamic terrorist armed group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, for cross border operations.

With Hezbollah supporting Assad, Bandar directed money and arms to the Abdullah Azzam Brigades in Lebanon to bomb South Beirut, the Iranian embassy and Tripoli.  Bandar directed $3 billion to the Lebanese military with the idea of fomenting a new civil war between it and Hezbollah.  In co-ordination with France and the US, but with far greater funding and greater latitude to recruit Islamic terrorist, Bandar assumed the leading role and became the principle director of a three front military and diplomatic offensive against Syria, Hezbollah and Iran.  For Bandar, an Islamic takeover in Syria would lead to an Islamic Syrian invasion in support of Al Qaeda in Lebanon to defeat Hezbollah in hopes of isolating Iran.  Teheran would then become the target of a Saudi-Israeli-US offensive.  Bandar’s strategy is more fantasy then reality…

In reality, Bandar bin Sultan is the protégé and successor of Bin Laden; he has deepened and systematized global terrorism.  Bandar’s terror network has murdered far more innocent victims than Bin Laden.  That, of course, is to be expected; after all he has billions of dollars from the Saudi treasury, training from the CIA and the handshake of Netanyahu!”

Accruing to an Arab American News, a Berlin news analysis, Firill, reported that the estimated number of Wahhabi Saudis infiltrated Syria, between 2011 and 2017 was 27,600 of which 8,8400 were killed. The number of Saudi infiltration alone equals about one third of the Syrian army itself. Could this illicit invasion’ and its atrocities, massacre and the near destruction of Syria, the Salafi/Wahhabis inflicted, delights God, or is it the desire of the guardians of the Wahhabi creed and the cancerous world’s wealth-hording lords, instead of God.

History, saddening to say, also tells us that those who consider themselves the only true guardians/carriers of Islam, did exactly what God warns Muslims against—taking the British as bitanah. The results of such bitanah were many small Muslim autonomies and factions throughout Arabia and the Arabian Gulf. Faction’s hunger for power and expansion was consistently fueled, insuring the fume of war, and the destabilizing of the region continues for decades to come.
